Rory

Rory (Roaring Forties) is a 9 year old ex-racehorse. He had a reasonably successful career with wins at Musselburgh, Ayr, Kempton and Chester as well as several runners up placings. From what I can gather he was well liked on his trainers yard by the staff and was a good natured boy.

He was retired from racing in October 2020 and put up for sale. I don’t know where he went but he turned up at a dealers yard in the North of Scotland, underweight and looking very sorry for himself. He was clearly in some discomfort when being tacked up but I could see potential so I brought him home and had him fully checked over by my vet who gave him the all clear

We started some gentle work while trying to improve his condition but he was always girthy and would try to bite when being tacked up no matter how gentle I was. He was such a sweet boy to handle otherwise so I arranged an appointment with Gillian to see if she could help.

Gillian carefully listened to my concerns and hopes for Rory and put together a comprehensive plan for us to work on combined with hands on sessions. Rory had had use of the tens machine and pulsd electromagnetic field therapy as well as massage. In just a few sessions he was no longer girthy when being tacked up and really enjoys his work again.

Rory has continued to see Gillian for regular maintenance and will continue to do so for as long as he’s with me. He absolutely loves his time with Gillian. It’s lovely to see how he relaxes during his sessions and the improvement in his condition has been nothing short of amazing. Highly recommended
